Regret

Rarely do I ever regret doing something.

My regret almost always comes from not doing something.

So many times I sit in my nice warm house and think, “Man, I should really go for a run.” I know in my mind that I’m going to regret it if I don't. There's that other voice in my head is telling me “nah, you don’t need to. Just stay on your soft, cozy couch and watch TV.”

I have never regretted going out for a run, a walk, or to the gym. I have felt, more times than I can count, regret for not going for a run, a walk, or to the gym.

The whole time Bree and I were living in Hawaii, I wanted to go surf so bad. However, I place two self-imposed obstacles on myself: I didn’t know any surfers and I didn’t want to go by myself. Thus, I only went surfing TWICE! I lived in the surf capital of the world and I went surfing two times.

Whether it's running, surfing, traveling, quitting a job, starting a business, or simply talking to a stranger, we know deep down what's good for us. We know what the right and wrong choices are. Yet, we have that voice in our head's telling us to do the opposite!

The last thing you want is to end up on your death bed feeling regret for not doing all the things you always said you were gonna do.

Ask yourself, "Am I going to regret not doing this? In a week? In a year? In 30 years?" You already know the answer, so just do it.
